Clubs in Jamshedpur

There are a number of clubs in Jamshedpur. They are places where people go for entertainment, sports and exercise and can read and issue books from the library. The beautiful and well kept lawns, with swings and merry-go-rounds are ideal for children. 

Summer season witnesses club members thronging the club for swimming. Training is provided for various sports such as lawn tennis, billiards, swimming and  table tennis in these clubs. Basket ball, flood light cricket and badminton are also played in some of these clubs.

Events such as music competitions, ''kavi sammelans'' and annual get-together on all important festivals are a common feature here.

Beldih Club:

The Beldih Club was built by Europeans and was founded in the year 1922. This club also has a golf course and other facilities such as tennis, squash, card room, open air theater and swimming pool. There is a library, bar and restaurant, conference hall, children's park and tennis court too. Tahiti Cafe serves burgers, cakes, coffee and mock-tails.Membership forms are available from the club office.

G Town Club:

The club is located in Bistupur area and provides good recreational facilities to its members including a swimming pool.

Golmuri Club:

The main attraction of this club is the lush green and  sprawling Golf course. It is located amidst the natural scenic beauty of hills near Nildih and Telco colony. The club boasts of state-of-art swimming pool, lawn tennis court and facilities such as library, restaurant and bar along with a beautifully maintained garden. Various tournaments are held from time to time. The Golmuri Golf course is a 18 hole Golf course. It was opened for members in 1988.

Tata Sports Club:

It was established in 1937 to impart exposure and training to talented sportsmen. Many renowned sports persons have been connected to Tata Steel sometime in their careers. For instance, cricketers such as  Dilip Vengsarkar, Saurav Ganguly and Ravi Shashtri  and ace Formula 1 sportsman  Narain Karthikeyan.

Gliding and Flying Club:

This facility is provided by Jamshedpur gliding club in Sonari area. Gliders can be seen flying  from time to time imparting training to those enrolled for this course.
