Snake Museum and FarmPlans are to open a snake museum in the Steel City and is proposed to come up near MGM Medical College. It will have around 20,000 snakes of over 100 species. The museum is to be set up in an open space spread over two and a half acres of land. It is said that the snakes in the museum won't be caged like in zoos rather they would be allowed to stroll around in the open space. The museum would also act like a research center for those willing to study different aspects and behavior of snakes. One can find different species of snakes like the boas, tree snakes and cobras in the museum. The main motive behind this project is that poison which is extracted from the snakes can be used to prepare anti-venom vaccines.
