By road: Ghatshila is 42 km from Jamshedpur. Buses that ply between Kharagpur and Jamshedpur and the buses going from Kolkata to Jamshedpur and Ranchi, pass through Ghatshila.

Satgurum River:

Satgurum is a tributary of Subarnarekha river. It is named so because seven streams of the river encircle seven separate hills seven times. Wild elephants can be seen here which come from Dalma hills.

How to reach:

Satgurum river makes for a nice weekend destination. It is a place of  tourist interest at Galudih in East Singhbhum District. Satgurum is about 15 km from Galudih. Satgurum River is flowing through boundary of Galudih City. Jamshedpur to Galudih  is 41 kms.

Galudih:


Located on the banks of Subernarekha river, Galudih is a nice tourist destination. One can go trekking on Nekra Dungri, Phuldungri and Rukmini hill. A visit to Bibhuti Bhushan Library, Burudih Lake (4 kms.), Ratmohona, Dharagiri waterfalls (7 kms.) and  ancient temple  complex of the royal Dhalbhum palace will leave you mesmerized in the lap of nature.

How to reach Galudih:

If you plan to drive down to Galudih on NH33, head west on Namdih Road toward New Kalimati Road.Take a right turn to Purulia road from where you have to take to Subernarekha link road.Take a turn to NH 33 and head straight to Galudih.

Ranchi:


140 kms. away from Jamshedpur, the capital city of Jharkhand is well connected by road and railways. There are a number of tourist attractions in Ranchi. These include Jagannath temple which was constructed in the 17th century and popular for ''Rath Yatra'', a concept taken from Jagannath temple of Puri.Hundru falls, Johna falls, Dassam falls, Panch Gagh falls, Hirni falls, Ranchi lake, Sun temple, Ranchi Museum, Gonda hills, Tagore hills, Pahari mandir and Angrabadi temple are some of the sites one can visit. That is not all! Ranchi is a haven for  animal lovers too! The Birsa zoological park (also called Birsa Jaivik Udyan) is situated near Ormanjhi on the  Ranchi-Patna National Highway. Ranchi is situated at a distance of around 134 km from Jamshedpur.  Ranchi is well connected to Jamshedpur by all the major means of transport such as roadways and railways. The best way to reach Ranchi is by car that takes around 3 hours from Jamshedpur. Chandrabhaga:                                                        Chandrabhaga Beach


This is a nice place to go for a picnic  to enjoy the solitude of nature and spend a few hours swimming or boating. Chandrabhaga fair is also quite popular.

How to reach:

Jamshedpur  to Puri is about 335 kms. You can travel to Puri by train and from there you can take a cab to Chandrabhaga. Puri to Chandrabhaga is 32 kms. by road.  You can travel by   Kalinga Utkal Express (Train No. 18478), Purushottam SF Express (Train No. 12802) or  Neelanchal Express (Train No. 12876) from Tatanagar Junction.      


Betla National Park and Palamu:


Betla is one of the first national parks to become a tiger reserve under Project tiger in India. There are sal, bamboo and many other trees having medicinal significance. Tiger, Panther, Sloth bear, elephants, hyena, Sambhar, Nilgai, mongoose and many other animals can be seen here. Birds found here include hornbill, black partridge, wagtails, doves, black ibis, geese, forest owlets etc. There are hot springs and waterfalls too to delight one and all. The best time to visit is between November and March when the climate is good.

How to reach:


Betla is 165 kms. from Jamshedpur. You can travel by train to Ranchi (110 kms.) and from Ranchi you can take a cab to Betla which is just 56 kms. Trains that start from Tatanagar Junction to reach Ranchi are Howrah-Hatia Express (Train No. 18615), Howrah-Ranchi Intercity (Train No. 18617), Tatanagar Jn.-Hatia Passenger (Train No. 58143) and Tatanagar Hatia Passenger (Train No. 58661).


Chandil:


The place is surrounded by hills, rivers and a green blanket of trees imparting natural beauty at its best. National Highway-33  leading to Ranchi and Jamshedpur and National Highway-32 leading to West Bengal pass through Chandil. One can visit Chandil dam, a place replete with scenic beauty. Other tourist attractions are Jayda temple, Sai Baba temple, and Sheesh Mahal auditorium.

By road: Total distance between Jamshedpur-Chandil is 29.194 Kms. It will take  35 mins to travel to Chandil by car.

Hazaribagh:

Hazaribagh literally means ''city of a thousand gardens''. Konar river which is a tributary of Damodar river passes by this town. Tourist attractions in Hazaribagh include Barso pani cave at Barkagaon, Budhwa Mahadev mandir,Hazaribagh National park and Canary hill. Chadwa dam is about 15 kms. from Hazaribagh and is a great picnic spot.

How to reach:

Mandarmani beach extends around 13 kms. Digha beach is located very near and one gets to see beautiful sunrise and sunset here. Adjacent to Mandarmani is Shankarpur Beach.
